Sartorius Octet (primary platform) The Octet system is the dominant BLI platform in biopharmaceutical development and QC. Key models differ mainly in throughput:

Biosensor tips are consumables and are application-specific. Common types:
- Protein A (ProA) — capture of IgG antibodies via Fc region; most common for mAb work
- Streptavidin (SA) — capture of biotinylated ligands
- Anti-hIgG Fc — secondary capture for antibody analytes
- NiNTA — capture of His-tagged proteins
Software Octet BLI Discovery software (formerly Octet Data Analysis HT) handles data acquisition, sensorgram processing, and kinetic fitting. For GMP environments, the software must comply with 21 CFR Part 11 audit trail and electronic records requirements.
